Almirante Brown - Special Third Shirt 2021

ALMIRANTE BROWN – SPECIAL THIRD SHIRT 2021

Club Almirante Brown is a sports club based in greater
Buenos Aires, Argentina. The team currently plays in the second tier of Argentinian football, the Primera Nacional.

The club is named after the Irish-Argentinian Naval Admiral –
William Brown, famous for leading the Argentinian navy to break the Spanish Blockade of the River Plate. This special third shirt honours the 164th anniversary of his death.

They play at Estadio Fragata Presidente Sarmiento, capacity 25,000 and in 2020 finished as champions of their league. The team was formed in 1912 and has always played in striking black and yellow stripes. In 1998 the team was relegated, even after defeating Estudiantes of Buenos Aires in the final game.  However, Almirante fans threw a bomb onto the pitch, which resulted in two of their own players being injured.

The club wore this striking shirt in the 2021 season when finishing 3rd in Zone A, thus qualifying for the Torneo Reducido. After beating Independiente Rivadavia in the first round, Almirante lost in the semi-final to Barracas Central 3-2 over two legs.
